After 22 years, Leno hangs it up.
Jay Leno has been a staple in late-night television for the better part of two-and-a-half decades, and as he prepared to hand off the reigns of television’s greatest and longest standing franchises to Jimmy Fallon, he took the time to address his fan base and NBC family, of that have been there for him every step of the way.
Detailing the order in which he lost his family when he first began his run (his mother passed in the first year of the show, his dad in the second, and his brother shortly after), Leno illuminated the importance of the every staff member that worked with him throughout the years, admitting one of the reasons he never went to another major network was simply because he didn’t know anyone there. Watch his tear-filled goodbye above.
