A.G. Schneiderman Announces Bust Of Major Manhattan-Based Prostitution And Drug Ring
Joined by NYPD Chief of Department Phillip Banks III and representatives from the New York State Police, the Attorney General announced a joint takedown of a high-end prostitution and drug trafficking ring that marketed its services to clientele in New York for the Super Bowl. Though any event the size of the Super Bowl attracts increased illicit activity, Attorney General Schneiderman reminded anyone who might patronize these illegal services to “stick to the game and maybe a few beers” or face the penalties.

A.G. Schneiderman & NYSP Superintendent D’Amico Join Forces To Take Down Two Major Drug Trafficking Rings In Western New York
Attorney General Schneiderman and New York State Police Superintendent Joseph A. D’Amico were in Buffalo to announce the arrest and indictment of 40 people for operating two different drug trafficking rings that operated throughout Western New York. Evidence recovered from the takedown ranged from more than $100,000 in cocaine to cash to doctored shoes, which were used to transport drugs. This joint investigation also led to the discovery of a cockfighting operation on an Indian reservation in Niagara County.

A.G. Schneiderman Announces Settlement With EmblemHealth For Failing To Offer Continuation Coverage To Young Adults And Wrongfully Denying Claims For Medical Treatment
After an investigation by his office into EmblemHealth uncovered widespread violations of New York’s Age 29 law – which requires health insurers to offer young adults health coverage on their parents’ policies until age 29 – Attorney General Schneiderman reached an agreement requiring the company to reinstate more than 8,000 wrongfully terminated plans.

A.G. Schneiderman Announces Arrest Of Doctor Who Illegally Sold Prescriptions
The Attorney General’s Office arrested a Niagara-based doctor who illegally sold the prescription drug Lortab to a hydrocodone-dependent patient, sending a message that New York’s medical professionals will be held to the fullest extent of the law if they contribute to the State’s prescription drug abuse epidemic. Attorney General Schneiderman praised President Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday for placing “inequality front and center” and “outlining steps to address the most urgent crisis of our time.”
