Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner took place at Cipriani Wall Street.

Amar’e Stoudemire

What are you working on right now?

Amar’e Stoudemire: Oh, well I don’t stop working. There’s so much things to work on right now.

Could you just tell one or two things you’re working on now?

AS: I own a team in Jerusalem so I’m working on a basketball team, trying to get on top of that. There’s a brand, Spiritual Gangster, that I’m supporting big time. So that’s just to name a few besides the New York Knicks and to get ready for basketball.

How are you feeling tonight? And why is this event important to you?

AB: Amazing! This is such an important event I think because one, I am into fashion but I think it’s great to see that people are doing such great things, you know, such philanthropic work. And I think that now that I’m getting older, I see the importance of it. I think you just see how important it is just to be able to give back and do great things for others.

What kind of image do you want to give off to your younger audience now that are watching you?

AB: For me, I think it’s so important, even from the Cheetah Girls to 3LW, has always been women empowerment. And that for me is really important is empowering other women and showing that women can get along. We can support each other and push each other forward and give self-confidence and that’s kind of the image I want to put out there.

What brings you to the event?

Qin Shu Pei: Oh, because Vera Wang is my good friend and I wanted to come support her since she is receiving an award.

How do you feel tonight being here?

QSP: I’m really excited to be here because Vera Wang is being honored.
