Darn, this would’ve been nice
Juicy J‘s platinum-selling lead single to Stay Trippy, “Bandz A Make Her Dance”, took the nation by storm over the past 12 months, spawning the catchphrase “Turn Up”, and giving new life to strip clubs all over the country. The song, produced by one of hip-hop’s busiest men, Mike Will Made It, was expected to receive an official remix verse from none other than rap’s favorite freelance artist, the seldom heard-from Atlanta statesmen, Andre 3000. This rumor was supported by a picture leaked to the internet, showcasing Andre and Mike Will Made It in the studio earlier this summer.
Unfortunately, we’ll never get to hear Andre 3000 on the biggest summer smash in quite some time, and Mike Will Made It sat down with MTV RapFix to tell the tale as to why:
I’m a big Andre 3000 fan, so when he called …we talked on the phone and he was telling me like, ‘Yo man, I’m a fan of your music,’ and [I had to make sure] ‘This is Three Stacks right? He said ‘I’m a fan of your music, I’ve been listening to your music and ‘Bandz A Make Her Dance’ was my favorite song. I wanted to get on the remix but I wasn’t feeling my verses.
