dtm-awardsASAP MOB‘s head Capo ASAP Ferg lets go of a new freestyle over Drake‘s recent Hit-Boy produced anthem “Trophies”.  Complete with its own cover art, the track carries the title “The DTM Awards 14″ .  Ferg drops some pretty personal bars and discusses some family issues, “When my daddy died, I went through deep depressions”.

The first verse finds him lifting the cadence that the young Canadian Drizz Lord had used in the original version of “Trophies” but on the second one Ferg reaches into his bag of tricks and exhibits his quicker, spitfire flow heard on previous cuts like the Bone Thugs N Harmony assisted “Lord”, from his debut album Trap Lord, which The Source ranked as the 9th best album of the year.

With “Trillmatic” currently in heavy rotation it seems Fergenstein &  The MOB are really trying to capitalize on the momentum they have going into the new year. ”Shout outs to everybody ! ”
