Every so often a talent comes along that shatters your definition of what an artist should be, and without question, Baiyu is that talent.
The singer-songwriter was born in China and moved to Queens, NY with her parents. It was when she arrived stateside Baiyu began listening to quintessential R&B artists like Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, which helped her craft her own soulful, robust sound.
Baiyu-who on top of being beautiful and talented also earned a degree from Princeton University -released her second full-length independent album titled “Ayahuasca,” which is an accumulation of Baiyu’s strength and vulnerabilities. Unlike most artist who just find a swanky recording studio to record, Baiyu traveled to the jungles of Peru to create her sound.
Take a listen to our new favorite artist sing an acoustic version of her hit “Fire” and word to the wise: if I were you, I would hop on this bandwagon ASAP!
Ladies and gents, Baiyu
