Bruce Timm, the co-creator and co-producer of the highly regarded 90′s Batman: The Animated Series cartoon, which is considered the definitive interpretation of the character, has once again joined with Warner Bros. for another adventure starring the Dark Knight. The short, entitled Batman: Strange Days, will not only act as Timm’s return to the Batman canon but as commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Batman character.
Batman: Strange Days will feature the caped crusader clashing against one of his earliest nemesis, Doctor Hugo Strange, as well as large yet-to-be-identified monster during his earlier days as a superhero. Stills from the short reveal that the film will be either entirely in black and white or a sepia vintage film noir aesthetic. Stills also show Batman firing an enormous gun in Timm’s classic artistic style, which looks simply awesome.
Batman:Strange days will premiere on Cartoon Network on April 9 at 6:30 p.m. during it’s “DC Nation” block. In the mean time get your first looks of the short in the images below.
