Everyone is buzzing about how well director Malcolm D. Lee’s “Best Man” sequel “Best Man Holiday,” did at the box office this past weekend. While it didn’t beat “Thor 2,” it definitely came in a close second.
Universal Studios estimates “Holiday” took in $30.6-million, while Disney’s 3-D sequel “Thor: the Dark World” took in a $38.5-million. Nikki Rocco, the president of distribution at Universal Pictures, told the LA Times that this was “a phenomenal result…I would never have thought in my most non-lucid moment to expect this — the picture only cost $17-million” to make.
Following social media this weekend, fans were very excited to see Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa reprise their roles 14 years later.
