Beyoncé continues to fight for women’s rights.
Queen Bey has pulled a Gloria Steinmem in her latest body of work. Beyoncé addresses equal pay in her essay “Gender Equality Is a Myth!“ featured in the newest issue of The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Pushes Back from the Brink. Mrs. Carter writes that everyone is equally important and need each other to survive.
“So why are we viewed as less than equal?” wrote Mrs. Carter. “These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning. We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible things will not change. Men have to demand that their wives, daughters, mothers and sisters earn more—commensurate with their qualifications and not their gender. Equality will be achieved when men and women are granted equal pay.”
Beyoncé, who was featured on the cover of feminist magazine Ms.Magazine in 2013, has become some what of the fresh & sexy face of feminism. You can read the rest of her essay here.
