Big Tymers

Yesterday, on MTV RapFix with Sway, Birdman did more than hint at the possibility of Mannie Fresh lending his talents to the new Big Tymers’ project. It’s been awhile since the last time we’ve seen the New Orleans group together, recording music as a unit. According to the Cash Money CEO, the holdout was partially Fresh’s fault, who seemed uninterested in making a new album. Things seemed to have come around for the two as Mannie is set to go into the studio with Birdman in the coming weeks. Fans should be excited for this reunion; Mannie Fresh was the architect behind their signature sound, which means that the group will be complete for this LP.

Earlier in the interview, Birdman addressed Drake’s peculiar absence from the Rich Gang album, which dropped yesterday. He assured fans that it had nothing to do with the well documented riff between Drake and Chris Brown, who does appear on the album. Instead, Birdman explains that Drake was out of the country working on Nothing Was The Same. The YMCMB leader went on to praise the Toronto emcee’s work ethic, and hinted at a Drake feature on the upcoming Big Tymers’ project.

“Drake was out of the country recording his album. I got songs, ’cause we doing the Big Tymers album. So I just said, we gon’ hold those songs for the Big Tymers album. I think it’ll be even more special.”
