Welcome to COSIGN, where I’ll present a group of fresh and invigorating talent that does more than just add to the conversation of who’s next, they advance it! There’s something intangible they possess. It’s more than just hustle. This collective group simmer on the edge of fame and notoriety not only because of their skill and ambition, but because they did more than just wish on a star.
Look, we’ve all been a little emotional lately. Certain rappers have made it cool to… you know, bear their inner most feelings about everything from recent break ups to the mail being late. I mean, the gamut of emotions run pretty deep nowadays in hip hop
But this ain’t that type of party. Ladies, and gents, say wassup to Spanish Harlem’s very own, Bodega Bamz. (real name Nathaniel DeLa Rosa) The half Dominican half Puerto Rican emcee and his accomplice Willy HEX are part of the Tanboys movement. A group of emcees dedicating to putting Latinos back on hip hop’s radar and hopefully, (dare we say it) pick up where Big Pun left off.
They’ve been on their grind for a minute and are just now seeing the spoils of their hard work. With the wildly popular track “Amen” featuring A$AP Ferg’s, Bamz, 28, went from just being an uptown emcee to finally getting the national attention he deserves.
Push play on the video, and learn how Bodega got his name, the type of music he hopes to bring to the culture, and what exactly he gets when shopping at the local bodega.
But let me warn you, this video is rated H: For certified hood sh*t!
