The lifelong collaborators are back with a full-length.
Its very rare these days when an artist that came up in the 90′s or early 2000′s is able to make a significant splash. Kanye West, Jay Z, Eminem, Young Jeezy and Snoop Lion/Dogg are some of the very few that can still be mentioned in that light, and today we’re reminded of two quintessential pioneers of hip-hop culture that have decided to gift the current generation with sure-to-be gems.
Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip, known for their former group’s legendary collaboration on “Scenario” (Q-Tip’s A Tribe Called Quest collaboration with Busta’s Leaders of the New School) not only have a new single out–the Kanye and Lil’ Wayne-assisted “Thank You”–but Busta announced today via Twitter that he and Q-Tip, who opened for Kanye West at last night’s New York Yeezus Tour stop, will be releasing a collaborative mixtape next month on December 12th. The tape will be appropriately titled The Abstact & The Dragon, and while most details haven’t been released, the announcement itself is enough to send old school and newer rap fans into a frenzy.
