Scores and performances from around the NBA.
On an NBA night with only three current playoff teams in action, there were a lot of expected victories around the association. Four teams on Tank Watch also matched up and we can’t imagine what the fans in attendance were going through in Philly and Utah. The most entertaining game was at Madison Square Garden, and the result gave Knicks fans another reason to put their heads down and drop their caps low.

Mavericks 110, Knicks 108
Just check out Carmelo Anthony’s reaction to Dirk Nowitzki’s game winner.
The Knicks rallied back in the fourth quarter against a talented Mavericks team that seems playoff bound. The MSG crowd was on fire after a Tyson Chandler basket, followed by a steal and an Anthony three to tie the game. We thought this would be the game to turn things around for the Knicks, but that was all put to rest with a Nowtizki dagger buzzer beater.
The Knicks have now lost three straight games, all games that they could have won. The New York squad continues to torture their fans with one disappointing loss after another. You ask if it can get any worse? With news of Knicks starting point guard Raymond Felton being arrested early this morning on a gun charge, it most certainly can get a lot worse. On the other hand, Dallas has won three straight and sits at the seven spot out West.
Anthony put on a show and finished the game with 44 points for the Knicks. Monta Ellis led the Mavs with 22 points and six assists.
The Mavericks improve to 35-23 and the Knicks fall to 21-36.
Clippers 123, Pelicans 110
The Clippers put a lot of points on the board against a struggling Pelicans squad in New Orleans. Houston leads the Clippers by half a game in the West for the 3 seed and with 20 remaining games, there will be a wild race to the finish.
Jamal Crawford had another big night for the Clippers as he knocked down seven three-pointers to finish with 24 points. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
The Clippers improve to 39-20 and the Pelicans drop to 23-33.
Warriors 104, Pistons 96
The Warriors took their talents to Detroit last night and picked up a much needed victory against a struggling Pistons squad. Detroit has lost two straight and will need to pick up key home victories if they have any hopes of making the playoffs.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a near triple double. He finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 23 points.
The Warriors improve to 35-22 and the Pistons drop to 23-34.
Bucks 130, Sixers 110
Here we go. In the race for worst place, the Sixers made it loud and clear that they have given up on this season. Instead of resting in the middle of irrelevance, a few NBA teams have adopted the philosophy of, “Tanking.” The Sixers put on the worst show they could last night with a 20 point home loss to the team with the worst record in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Sixers have lost 11 straight and allowed the worst team in the league score 130 on them. Ugh. The Bucks picked up their 11th win of the season and we are sure some Bucks fans threw a party to celebrate the rare victory.
OJ Mayo led the Bucks with 25 points. Thaddeus Young finished with 28 points and seven assists for the Sixers.
The Bucks improve to 11-45 and the Sixers fall to 15-42.
Jazz 110, Celtics 98
In our second tank match up of the night, the Boston Celtics are only 8 games ahead of the Bucks for the worst record in the league. With hopes of landing a top lottery pick, these teams have a lot of incentive to play awful with hopes of building for the future in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Marvin Williams led the Jazz with 19 points and seven rebounds. Kelly Olynyk finished with 21 points and eight rebounds.
The Jazz improve to 20-36 and the Celtics fall to 19-39.
