image-3West Philly Native Pays Homage To Hometown Forebears With New Release

This week The Roots made history once again when they joined Jimmy Fallon as the house band on NBC’s “The Tonight Show”. In lieu of today being the 15 year anniversary of their classic Things Fall Apart release,  the band’s brand,OkayPlayer, gives West Philly’s own Chill Moody the green light to take some of the album’s best beats for a spin. In his own words:

“Me and my producer JoeLogic put this together in celebration of the 15 year anniversary of The Roots “Things Fall Apart” album. Logic flipped a couple beats solely from the TFA album and I provided the rhymes. Being an MC from Philly I am inspired by The Roots’ story and the heights they have reached in their careers. Philly is proud. It’s an honor to be able to celebrate their legacy. Special thanks to Okayplayer for premiering this. #nicethings”
