Soft Lit is a Brooklyn based duo, who also happen to be love sick roommates, who have an affinity for electronic, R&B, and milder hip hop music. Tyler McCauley is the man behind their charged production, while Tara Chacon provides the angelic vocals that lace each track of theirs. Their style isn’t explicitly aimed for the rap crowd, so don’t expect hard hitting beats or lyrical assaults to bang through the speakers, once you press play. Rather, they have created a sound that combines all of their far ranging influences, resulting in a wholly unique floating ambiance, drifting somewhere between the clouds and electronic dance floors.

Their first single, “Ocean King”, grabs speedy hi-hats and mellow synthesizers to formulate a beautifully tragic mood. Chacon’s voice meekly moans through McCauley’s gorgeous backing music. Check it out below and tells us what you think.
