Alexander Wang has been the artistic director of Balenciaga for just a year now – and he already has a big treat up his sleeve for the adoring masses.
By the end of the month, Wang will unveil “a great, big, glamorous place” on Mercer Street in Soho, complete with skylights and green marble floors. In other words, the flagship store is going to help refresh and re-define the company.
As a brand, Balenciaga continues to embrace its most classic shapes, like the sleek, constructed coats and three-quarter “bracelet sleeves.” Since being under new direction, Balenciaga has also been doused in Alexander Wang’s famed streetwear sensibilities.
The Soho store is set to open on November 22nd.
