Nothing was the same

If there was ever an appropriate example of foreshadowing, it would have to be better than this, so it had better be good. This is a 10-minute video clip of Kendrick Lamar freestyling during a rap battle in Watts, California–which is where Jay Rock is from, and still currently represents–and its startling how good he was even at that age. We stumbled across the clip on DJ Enuff’s homestead, and it’s certainly a must-watch for any hip-hop head. Also, we couldn’t help but notice the “in between the sheets like the Isley’s” bar he used in “m.A.A.d. city” may have been inspired by this freestyle. Watch it for yourself below.
