Childish Gambino has been steadily rolling out material from his latest effort, Because The Internet, to get fans excited. However, with the release of his short film, Clapping For All The Wrong Reason, and the deliberate leaks of “Worldstar” and “3005″, it became clear that he was attempting to bridge the gap between internet hype and pure artistry. Unfortunately for him, the head honchos at the record label haven’t bought into his vision; instead they are worried about their bottom line. Needing to have another single out there to keep listeners’ moral high, the label dropped a new cut, “Sweatpants”. While enthusiast were rejoicing, Donald was venting on twitter.
im pissed. this song was not supposed to come out tonight

im trying to create one of the more imaginative rollouts, and other people’s lust for money and impatience is ruining it

Apparently, the song saw the light of day a little too early, but since it is here, why not enjoy it a little. Take a listen above and tell us what you think. Who knows what is to come of this contreversy, but we will keep you updated on it as it develops.
