The NYPD shutdown a flash dance party over the weekend at New York’s Manhattan Bridge, which was organized by a 19-year-old college dropout. Three people were arrested at the illegal event and party goers were told to leave the area.
According to the NYPD, the party needed a permit to take place–a request the city would have denied. That didn’t stop organizer Alexander Schlaferman from throwing organizing and inviting 1000s to the party he called, ”Xandernation.” Schlaferman says it’s not a party but an experience.
Even after his arrest, Schlaferman says he plans to host more parties, but will not announce the location of the next flash party. Schlaferman and the two DJs have court dates scheduled next month.
