Tom Ford Jay-ZGoes on Rap Translator to understand MCHG track, visits Jimmy Kimmel

Fashion designer, Tom Ford, recently had the chance to explain his initial reaction to Jay’z Magna Carta Holy Grail track “Tom Ford” when he visited Jimmy Kimmel. How did the designer take the track entitled with his very own name?

“Well I know him,” Ford said of the rapper, “and he emailed me and said ‘I’m writing a song called ‘Tom Ford,’ and I didn’t know what to expect, but I trust him, he’s a great guy. And then I heard the song, I had to go on rap translator to sort of understand what it meant.”

The infectious track must have pleased Tom Ford because he had nothing but good things to say about the song. He took a liking to the track. “Tom Ford” which served as the second single from MCHG came across as a very positive song to the designer.

The message is actually quite positive, he doesn’t do drugs he wears Tom Ford, that’s how he gets his high, so who doesn’t like that? My favorite line is ‘I don’t pop Molly, I rock Tom Ford.’ I love that he gets a ‘high’ from my clothes. I have been dressing him for years now, and I have to say I think he looks great in my clothes. [He] is one of our biggest customers. He let me know about this quite a while ago.
