The elusive and ever-reclusive MF DOOM has always had an unorthodox approach in navigating the path of his career. Known for releasing albums under several different pseudonyms — many times without any warning — and occasionally having imitators perform donning his signature metal mask at live shows, DOOM has embodied his villainous persona. Now, the mysterious metal masked emcee has recruited a new minion, the 17-year-old New York rap phenom, Bishop Nehru.
In a new short documentary MF DOOM And Bishop Nehru: Beyond The Mask, the duo discuss their upcoming project NehruvianDOOM“ and the organic dynamic of the twosome. ”There’s no way to really explain it. It’s just kind of its own little feel, it’s own little sound. I don’t think anything really compares to it,” Nehru explained. DOOM and Nehru share praises throughout the documentary — DOOM in particular, who raves about the Bishop’s ability, focus and work ethic. There is no release date for the NehruvianDOOM as of yet, but be on the look out for the 7-track EP sometime soon, and check out the documentary here.
