Kat Dahlia’s newest mixtape Seeds is out and full of the funk hip-hop soul from this Miami born MC. Much like Drake, Kat Dahlia is such a mixture of R & B soul and hip-hop that sometimes it’s hard to tell when R & B starts and hip hop begins on tracks like “302″ and “F**ng Trust.” This six track mixtape is a sample of her reggaeton, dancehall, R&B, hip-hop, funk, dancehall, soul “flava.” Her tracks sound similar to her summertime single “Gangsta.” 302 is an essential track off Seeds, with its soulful hooks and reggaeton beats. Her voice makes every verse sound like a hook, while everything she spits is poetic justice. This is a mixtape worth listening to. On Seeds, she brings the soul seen with Keyshia Cole, while also bringing Drake like verses with the vibe of Rihanna and a funk flavor simmilar to Teena Marie. Kat Dahlia was recently featured in DJ Khaled’s Suffering from Success album. Keep your eye out for this swagged-out, Cubano, hip hop hipstress MC, bringing new flava to the game. Seeds mixtape gets three stars out of a five star scale.
