TheSource.com, The SourceFind out why Dr. Dre is in the middle of a lawsuit battle with Death Row

Hip-hop legend, Dr. Dre is presently in the middle of a lawsuit battle against former label, Death Row Records, stating that the label has stiffed him out of approximately $3 million in royalties for material sold by the Death Row Estate during the pendency of their bankruptcy case.

Filed on December 4, 2013, Dre claims that the $3 million estimate comes from $1,200,386.57 in unpaid artist-producer royalties, $676,444.44 in unpaid mechanical royalties and $1,179,913 in unpaid digital sales, which was based off of a judge’s recommendation after Dre lost a trademark infringement suit back in 2010.

According to Radar Online, Dre also hinted at a discrepancy in the settlements that he has received from the Estate, stating that they’ve yet to honor a bonus that would elevate his earnings from Death Row Album sales from 18 to 20 percent.

Dre was expected to have set his motion for the hearing last month.
