Drizzy brings us more new music from the album…live
Jimmy Fallon has become the premiere late night show for marquee musical guests to make statements, especially leading up to the release of their albums. Earlier this year, Justin Timberlake guest hosted for an entire week–appropriately dubbed ‘Timberweek’–Kanye West brought the previously un-heard “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead” to Fallon’s late night stage in June in support of Yeezus, and last night, Drake debuted the Sampha-featured “Too Much” during Jimmy Fallon’s late night NBC slot. Shortly after sending a message to his friends and family (I wish you the best in everything, and I love you all) Sampha cued up the piano keys and sang the melodic, moody hook before Drake rapped two, very personal verses, about his struggle with personal relationships and family ties during his Grammy Award-winning ascent, in aggressive fashion. Watch the first ever live rendition of “Too Much”, and prepare for Nothing Was The Same in ten days.
