Oh and by the way, he’s one of the most heavily recruited high school football players in the nation.

Paramus Catholic High School (NJ) senior Jabrill Peppers signed his letter of intent on college football’s National Signing Day today and is now a Michigan Wolverine. A two-way athlete in high school, Peppers had 64 tackles, four interceptions and 12 deflected passes this season on defense for the Paramus Catholic Paladins. On offense, the 6-1 205 pounder played both WR and RB. He had 1,381 all-purpose yards with 19 touchdowns and 658 rushing yards and 448 receiving yards on the season.

Let’s get him here and let him be a corner for awhile,” said Michigan coach Brady Hoke. “Can he return kicks? Yea. Could there be an offensive plan? Possibly.”

With Michigan finishing their season at 7-6 this year, Peppers reportedly had his doubts about his verbal commitment to the university on May 26. He verbally committed live on ESPN by freestyle rapping his decision.

He signed his letter of intent with the Wolverines today at 9:01 AM ET.

Unanimously viewed as one of the nation’s top senior recruits, Peppers helped lead Coach Chris Partridge’s Paramus Catholic to a 10-2 record this season and a number 2 ranking in the state of New Jersey. Paramus Catholic defeated St. Peter’s Prep, 13-6, in the NJSIAA/Atlantic Health Non-Public, Group 4 final at MetLife Stadium in December and won their second straight state championship.

Peppers headlines a solid list of freshmen commits to Coach Brady Hoke’s Wolverines. Peppers’ Paramus Catholic teammate Juwann Bushell-Beatty commited along with Detroit Country Day High School’s WR Maurice Ways, Ian Bunting, a TE from Hinsdale Central High School in Illinois and Lawrence Marshall, a DE from Southfield High School in Southfield, Michigan.
