Screen Shot 2013-11-15 at 12.42.55 AMOn Tuesday evening, The Source Magazine was invited to Bar Nana in Manhattan for the launch of Conair for Men’s new 2-Blade All-In-One-Trimmer, which Conair representative Paulette Heller and her team are proud to announce is the industry’s only two-blade trimmer on the market.

We had the pleasure of sitting down and catching up with Giants’ Rookie and Offensive Tackle Justin Pugh who was on-hand to celebrate the launch and share his tips to being a better man, along with Celebrity Groomer Anna Bernabe, who’s worked with clients like Jake Gyllenhaal, Bruce Willis and Tom Brady, to name a few. Anna not only gave Justin a live game-day trim, but also treated guest to trims throughout the event.

After Justin’s trim we sat down and got to know a little more about him, how he’s adjusting to life in the big apple and his plans for the holiday’s.

How did you get involved with Conair’s new 2-Blade All-In-One-Trimmer campaign?

JP: My best friend’s mother works for the brand and when they realized that I’m known for my beard, mostly because I have such a baby face so I like to keep the edge with my beard, especially for games; a conversation quickly turned into a cool opportunity that was mutually beneficial.

Why will other guys love the trimmer?

JP: It’s easy and compact, I love it because I can pack it and take it with me on the go without much maintenance. I use it regularly and its pretty easy. If you clean it and take care of it, it will take care of you.

How are you adjusting to life in New York City?

JP: I really like the diversity, you meet really amazing and interesting people of all different ethnicities and religious backgrounds and I think thats awesome, something that I can appreciate about NYC.

What are you looking forward to the most, especially now that the holidays are upon us?

JP: I have allot of friends that live in NYC so I’m looking forward to hanging out with them during the holidays. I also really want to go ice-skating at Rockefeller Center! Just everything, I hear the city is awesome.

As a Rookie, what’s the best part about being a NY Giant?

JP: The entire organization is first class. And it’s a family, you hear stories about teams that are very cut throat and business only and that’s not been my experience with the NY Giants, we’re one big family and we take care of each other, and that’s the best.

There’s been allot of talk about hazing in the league, have you experienced it and how did you deal with it, if so?

JP: I’m a rookie and I’m cool with that, sure when Halloween just passed I picked up candy for the guys and yeah maybe I’ve carried a helmet or two off the field but it’s cool, this is football. We guys play pranks on each other all the time and when you’re new there are rights of passage but nothing crazy or demeaning that I can’t handle.

Give us a look inside, what one of those pranks actually look like?

JP: Okay, so when I first signed, As a team we went out to dinner and the guys gave me the bill that I was responsible for and it was 10,000 dollar tab! I literally only had a advancement check, but was only for 2,500 dollars! I was sweating bullets. Turns out the check they gave me for 10,000 was a fake and the tab was really only 800 dollars and they were playing a prank on me, in the end it was all fun and games and we still laugh and joke about it, it was harmless and funny.

The Source also caught up with Celebrity Groomer Anna Bernabe for her Top 10 Grooming Tips!

1. Even, Stephen. To achieve even sideburns, look at the mirror and point your index finger to the end of one sideburn. Then do the same for the opposite sideburn. From there, you can determine if one side needs to be trimmed shorter.

2. Blending is key. Make sure the neck area is clean and trimmed at the shortest level or no guard. From there, always remember to blend from the area above your Adam’s apple to your beard.

3. Brush up, wise one. Take an old toothbrush and brush eyebrow hair up. You will notice a few owl-like hairs that are longer than the rest. Take small scissors to trim excess.

4. Avoid the pinch. Before using nose hair trimmers, remember to turn it on before placing it into nose. This will avoid the pain and agony of ripping your hair out.

5. Extend the freshness. Clean your trimmers with an old toothbrush once a week and always brush off excess stubble when the trimmer is turned off. Bonus tip – place a few drops of oil on blade while trimmers are on so they are evenly lubricated. It will give your trimmers a longer life.

6. Dress to impress. Lint rollers are handy to touch up any dandruff around your suit jacket or sweater.

7. First impressions are key. Neatly trimmed nails are a must. Treat yourself to a manicure every once in a while!

8. Shine on. Exfoliating once a week will promote a healthy glow and help you avoid any ingrown hairs.

9. You need beauty sleep, too. Be generous at night with facial moisturizer because your skin will fully absorb the benefits and be supple and vibrant by morning.

10. Keep up with the up-keep. Always be sure to tweeze the random stray hairs between eyebrows to avoid that unibrow look.
