fat_joe-news-article1226Fat Joe appeared on Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club morning show to clear the air and discuss his legal problems. During his interview, Joe talks about everything from music, his happiness, personal life, and his Bronx upbringing; and bluntly addresses his use of the “N” word as well as the current status of Terror Squad.

Fat Joe plans to turn himself into prison on August 26 to serve a four-month sentence. He discusses in detail of how his credit status was sabotaged and his money was mishandled in the hands of his accountant. He goes on to state how he felt he was in the midst of a Ponzi scheme and describes his twists and tangles he endured with the IRS.

Joe says he wants his situation to be used as an example for other artists to get a handle on their financial situations, stating “I considered myself a smart dude […] and this happened to me”.

Charlamagne shifts the interview to also discuss the validity of his presence in hip hop. Joe talks about his shift to the south after feeling the wrath of competition and negativity in New York hip hop. He goes on to say that he “fell in love” with the Miami music vibe. Also, he gives advice to all of the upcoming artists and illustrates the power of creativity.

Lastly, he talks the dominance of Terror Squad and states he doesn’t “Get the credit (he) deserves […] as a lyricist”.
