mmlp2Eminem‘s childhood home was significantly damaged in a fire last night around 6:20pm.

The house, which was pictured in the covers for Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP and his newest album, Marshall Mathers LP 2, is located near 8 Mile in Detroit.

Although the house is small–2 stories and 767 square feet–officials say the fire only spread to the second floor. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the rest of the home.

Debbie Nelson, Eminem’s mother, purchased the home for $19,000 in 1987 and since there’s been 10 other homeowners. Recently, the house was abandoned and now after not being able to sell for $500 in auction, it’s under the possession of a bank.

There are no leads on how the fire started.
