Take a look at these funny moments

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of Drake’s classic and iconic “So Far Gone” mixtape.

Our Canadian friend has came a long way since we first heard him back in 2009, so its only right  we pay homage to Drizzy Drake and his breakthrough mixtape.

Here’s to Drake and his five defying moments that solidified him to being a star:

1.  Ol’ Canada:

Now who said Canadians are only known for maple syrup and bacon hmm? Drake was the second artist to have both his first two top ten hits in the same week, those being “Every Girl and “Best I Ever Had”. The last artist to do that was also from Canada and is none other than Nelly Furtado.

2. ” Degrassi Days

I think we all pretty much remember Aubrey riding big on spokes on the Canadian TV show “Degrassi” as “Wheelchair Jimmy Brooks” right?  Showing off his natural talents on camera, it was obvious he was destined for the spotlight. He quit in 2007 after two seasons, and the rest was history.

3. “ Best Video He Ever Had

How many artists can say they had Kanye West direct a video for a track off their mixtape? Back in 2009, Kanye West directed a video for Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” and provided great visuals may i add. If you haven’t watched it in some time, do yourself the favor and thank me later. (See what i did there)

4.  Hands Free?

Who remembers when Drake had his first real promo run in New York and was a guest on  Funkmaster Flex’s show? Better yet who remembers the “Blackberry”?  Besides it not being your typical Funk Flex visit, hearing Drake freestyle was big even if he had help from Blackberry’s auto correct features.

5.   “CP3″ With The Assist

The monumental moment when Chris Paul appears on the track titled ”  Ignant Sh*t* off Drake’s “So Far Gone” mixtape is the sheer sign that he made it. Bridging  NBA’s elite with rap’s up and coming star was pure brilliance. Plus who would you rather have talking on a track CP3 or somebody from the Raptors?
