Floyd Mayweather gave his fans the opportunity to choose his next opponent.  They were able to pick either Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana.

Well the results are in and the winner is:

According to Yahoo Sports Mayweather (45-0, 26 KOs) will fight Amir Khan (28-3, 20 KOs) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 3.  According to Lockerdome, Khan tallied 20,105 votes to 15,474 for Maidana.

While Khan remains confident in his abilities, it’s expected to be an easy win for Mayweather given Amir’s most recent bouts.

The ridiculous boxing “Cold War” that pits Golden Boy and Showtime on one side and Top Rank and HBO on the other prevented a number of far better candidates from being on the ballot.

Mayweather said is last fight would be in September of 2015 so hopefully he’ll take on a better fighter by then.
