Frenchie

Brick Squad Monopoly’s Frenchie stopped by The Source to discuss “Power Moves,” who he wants on the remix, and his love for his fans.

Queens native, Frenchie, who’s been in the game for a minute now since “Take Your Shirt Off,” with Gucci Mane (hence the title to his latest mixtape ‘Long Over Due’), has unconditional love for his fans because they’re the reason he’s in his current position. His belief in ‘power to the people’ stretches far enough for him to tweet out and ask his fans their take on who he should recruit for the Waka Flocka Flame assisted single, “Power Moves.” Despite his fans infatuation with Chicago’s Chief Keef and their desire to see him on the track; Frenchie’s choice was polar opposite. When asked if he could have anyone on his “Power Moves,” remix Frenchie, without hesitation, said, “Kendrick  Lamar, he’s ill to me.”

Although the remix has yet begin cookies, Frenchie promises the fans will have a project with similar stature as the single. He emphasizes to “have an open mind,” and listen to the fans. “Hip-Hop is everything, your performance, your energy. If your work is appreciated; that’s a form of a Hip-Hop,” Frenchie stated after confronting the allegations that BSM was strictly ‘energy’ but quickly disregarded the nonsense as Sounds of Brazil (SOB’s) headlined him for the “Queen’s Finest.” A statement in itself. Don’t get it twisted, Frenchie has lots of energy backed behind his tracks, lyrics, and performances and should never be subcategorized as strictly in one lane.

Currently on the Turn Down For What? (#TDFW) tour, traveling from New York to Atlanta and back, Frenchie told us his most memorable crazy moment. Frenchie was performing (need specific location) and lost his balance on stage, which was elevated a few feet above the ground, and fell into a flipping motion as the crowd cheered thinking it was part of the act.
