The simple yet infectious drumbeat acts as the bones of the record, but Cole sneaks the slight echo of wind chimes and a faint trumpet to add not only texture, but personality to the love letter Cole pens about his second home.
Curtis plays the humble and sings the hook, but its Bas who adds the most color to the song, reminiscing on the days when he sold reefa and plates to now eating stakes with Cole and playing FIFA with Drake.
An ode to the city that never sleeps has been done before from everyone to ‘Ol Blue Eyes to Hov and Alicia, so I gotta knock Cole for the lack of creativity. However, for being able to get Fif on a hook and giving Bas 16 bars to spit some real ish, I give the track 3Gs. But that’s just me.
