Warner Bros. Studios has been tight-lipped on the progress of the sequel to Zack Snyder‘s “Man of Steel,” for now simply titled “Batman/Superman.” Up until now, we’ve known that Henry Cavil will be reprising his role as Superman and that Ben Affleck will be the next person to don Batman’s cowl.
According to SuperHeroHype.com, Warner Bros. Studios has officially announced that actress Gal Gadot will be playing female superhero icon Wonder Woman on the big screen aside Affleck and Cavil.
Director Zack Snyder had this to say about Gadot’s casting:
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
Gadot is most famous for her role as Gisele Yashar in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Her portrayal will be the first time Wonder Woman has ever been portrayed on the big screen.
