As of Tuesday, December 3rd, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is facing the possibility of 20 years in prison. The 1017 Brick Squad Gucci Mane-Assaultfounder, born Radric Davis, has been charged with multiple counts of felony firearm possession.

This trial has been the denouement of a long drama for Gucci, beginning back in September when his “erratic behavior” caused a friend to involve police. This past weekend, he was finally ordered to turn in all guns and ammunition.

A news release concerning the trial provided new insight into the events that led up to yesterday. The federal prosecutor said:

“On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm. Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney.”

Gucci Mane’s charges may spell out up to $250,000 in fines and 20 years’ imprisonment for him. In addition to all of his legal troubles this year, Gucci was reportedly been dropped from his label, Atlantic Records. This is believed to have happened around the time of his Twitter rants and aggravated incidents that led to his arrest.
