Radio personality/Hip Hop pioneer Chuck Chillout reaches another milestone

On this date in 1962, Charles Turner aka DJ Chuck Chillout was born in the birthplace of Hip Hop.

As one of the most influential personalities in the culture during the 80s and 90s, Chuck made his name as a premier DJ on both 98.7 Kiss FM and 107.5 WBLS, which were both NYC’s top Hip Hop radio stations at the time. During his decades long tenure, CC broke records of legendary artists such as Run-DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, DMX and launched the career of famed radio personality Funkmaster Flex. Additionally, Chuck was also one of the first VJs on NYC’s first Hip Hop video show, “Video Music Box.” He also aided in getting “The World’s Greatest Entertainer” Doug E. Fresh and Black Moon the first recording contracts of their careers.

Chuck currently has a webcast on www.rapstation.com called “The Chuck Chillout Show”.

TheSource.com send a big born day shout out to Chuck and wishes him many more in the future!
