The book details the abc’s of life for young girls whether they live in the hood or not. This is definitely one book that every young girl and woman should read.

Kendell, who is a Queens native was able to write from her own experiences. I had the opportunity to meet her and I would describe her as humble, intelligent and sweet because she’s not the type of person that is not about promoting violence and being ratchet.

While reading the book, I was able to relate to some of the things that she was saying in the book like being bullied, having haters, being independent, trusting people and being successful. Let’s just say it was something that was hard for me but I was able to face my situations head on and never give up on myself.

If I had a daughter, I would recommend her to read this book because you don’t always have to follow the crowd and it would be good for her to hear from another woman besides me about what life is really made of. Life is all about owning and accepting your flaws no matter what and always remember be yourself without losing yourself.
