Late night show host Chelsea Handler spoke out against an article that was written in the New York Times about Jimmy Fallon’s new job as the host of The Tonight Show and her name was in parentheses and the other host didn’t get their names in parentheses.
She didn’t take the article too lightly. Handler never thought of herself as a woman in a male-dominated genre.
Here is what she said about the article and working in late night:
And just as I don’t want to be inconsequential in any late-night discourse, I also don’t want to be singled-out and lauded merely because I am successful “for a woman.” I only want to be acknowledged for having worked hard to build an equally significant audience and fan base to those of my peers. I believe the success of any woman should never be qualified by her gender.
What do you guys think about it?
