Check out the interview.

What made you join the show?

Meelah Williams:  Well, I’ve been gone for a while, raising my son, starting back into the scene. Taking it easy breezy, singing background for artists here or there. I realized that something was missing that I missed performing and singing on stage. I was hesitant about doing reality tv but once I realized that it’s all about music, I jumped on the opportunity when I got the chance. I’m excited about the show.

How is the chemistry between you and the rest of the ladies? And also with the cast of R&B Divas LA?

M.W.: I’m cool with everybody. With the LA cast, I pretty much know them. I know Lil Mo, I’ve met Claudette before, I’ve met Chante in the past. I’m a fan of the ladies from my season in Atlanta. I love KeKe, Syleena, Monifah. Me and Monifah go way back. Everybody’s sweet. I’m genuinely fan of all of their work. So far, it’s been great.

In three words, how would you describe your personality and why?

M.W.: I would say humble, funny and complicated because I hear those words from my two friends all the time. I’ve always been humble because I’ve try to practice it, I have a great sense of humor, complicated because I have layers when it comes to my personality. You never know I’m a mystery.

You revealed that your son has autism, what was your reaction to the news and how have you dealt with it?

M.W.: My reaction I wasn’t overly surprised simply because I had a traumatic delivery and therefore Zackariah had suffered some oxygen to the brain which made him delayed in his speech. We noticed it early on and we got him tested. His father and myself wasn’t surprised. Thankfully, Zack is doing well doing what four year olds do being energetic and bouncing off the walls. He loves to sing and dance. He is such a happy child.

How do you feel about the nonprescencce of girl groups today?

M.W.: It’s kind of bothersome that you know that some girls don’t have the same opportunity that I had like getting a chance to witness the sisterhood, collaborating with other female artists and the female unity. It kind of sucks now but at the same time it must be a confidence thing it helped me spread my wings and pursue a solo career.

Would there ever be a 702 reunion?

M.W.: I’m not really focused on a 702 reunion but it’s GOD will and say.

Besides the show, do you have any upcoming projects in the works?

M.W.: Right now, I have new music in the works that would be released soon and I recently became the face of a cosmetics line, Revel, which I have my own line and it’s called Complicated. I have a children’s album on iTunes and Amazon called We Are Different that is available now.
