News around the Internet is Instagram plans to add a video feature which of course would compete with Vine. As of late Vine has been on fire and had some resurgence of sorts, it’s no surprise that Instagram would add a short video format.
Before another company gets in the short video app wars, Instagram wants to throw their hat in mix to gain some market share in the field also. The word floating around the Internet is Instagram will allow its users to make videos anywhere between 5 and 10 secs, no word if these created videos will have a filter option but Instagram would be foolish not to add the feature to add some value to their video format to distance themselves from Vine and upstart company Viddy.
A few weeks ago, social media journalist Matthew Keys broke a story about Facebook and Instagram testing a Vine like app internally. And at the time, there wasn’t a lot of info on what the app would do or when the app would be released. Facebook wanted to keep a lid on things until June 20th, to see if they wanted to make a formal announcement about the app. Now that information has leaked, will Facebook and Instagram break the news before the planned date?
