Iowa State sends North Carolina home packing

In such a bizarre finish, Iowa State Cyclones defeat North Carolina Tar Heels to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

All thanks to DeAndre Kane.

With less than 6 seconds left on the clock, DeAndre Kane drove to the basket for an acrobatic lay-up to push the cyclones up 85-83.

But get this, once the clocked stopped it didn’t start immediately when in-bounded. This resulted in the Tar Heels rushing up the court to call a timeout with 1.6 seconds left on the clock.

After further review, the clock was ruled invalid because it did not start immediately and the timeout was not recognized.

Furthermore, officials called the game and the Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Tar Heels 85-93.
