Actor James Gandolfini, who is best known for his Emmy Award winning role as ‘Tony Soprano’ on the HBO series, The Sopranos, died today from a heart attack while on vacation in Italy. Gandolfini was 51.

Tony Soprano was made a household name for Gandolfini’s role as a realistic mob boss of a notorious Italian crime family in the NY/NJ area. He had other stellar silver screen appearances in movies like Zero Dark Thirty and Not Fade Away.

The Soprano star is survived by his wife, two children, and an entire cast and fan base that will always view the Sopranos as family. The Source Magazine sends our condolences out to his family.
