Bananas may be a great source of potassium and Vitamin C, but for one Japanese sculptor it’s also a a great source of art.

Keisuke Yamada, and electrician by trade, enjoys sculpting bananas into crazy cool works of art with nothing more than a toothpick and a spoon. Yamada has a short time period before the banana begins to change color so he’s forced to work really fast while maintaining great detail. Each sculpture typically takes him about an hour to complete.

Yamada has carved a range of characters, faces and animals in the past and pulls his inspiration from both other people’s suggestions and his own. Check out a few of his super amazing and delicious pieces below.
