Jason Kidd hangs it up after 19 seasons
After 19 seasons of playing in the association 40-year old Jason Kidd has decided to retire from the game of basketball. People will be quick to bring up that Kidd didn’t make a single basket in his last 10 playoff games, but that isn’t what Kidd should be or will be remembered for. What Kidd will be remembered is being one of the best point guards to ever play the game of basketball. Kidd was the #2 overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft and since that draft Kidd became a 10x All-Star and an NBA Champion among numerous other All-NBA First Team accolades.
Kidd’s career took him to Dallas for two stints with the Mavericks, a few years with the Phoenix Suns, his best years with the Nets, and lastly a stop in New York as a part of the Knicks. Kidd is only second to the likes of John Stockton when it comes to all time numbers in assists and steals.
This is what Jason Kidd told ESPN about the most proud moment of his career;
“The two things that are probably tied for first are winning a championship with the Mavericks and also being able to win a gold medal — two gold medals with Team USA. And then underneath that will probably be sharing Rookie of the Year with Grant [Hill].”
Congratulations to Jason Kidd on a spectacular Hall Of Fame career.
