Monster of the double entendre.
With merely 6 days left until the release of the biggest hip-hop album of the year thus far, Kanye West’s Yeezus Jay-Z‘s Magna Carta Holy Grail is slated to be one of Hov’s most intricate works to date, according to the numerous people that have worked on and around it. In this clip, Hov details a couple of the lyrics from “Oceans”, which already looks to be one of the album’s standout tracks. Touching on the duality of his luxurious life and his previous, less-privileged beginnings, coupled with his already infamous Biggie tribute/Christopher Columbus snub–”The only Christopher we acknowledge, is Wallace”–Hov manages to explain a couple entendres that leave even longtime collaborator Timbaland perplexed at the 1:04 mark. Watch, enjoy, and anticipate.
As a bonus, we’ve included an image of the full lyrics to “Oceans”, that were previewed by Jay-Z & Samsung this week. Click the picture to enlarge the song’s lyrics.
