The rumors circulating about Houston Rockets point guard, Jeremy Lin leaving Nike for Adidas has just been confirmed officially by Adidas. We can add another score for the sneaker company taking one of Nike’s key endorsers for the brand.

In a press statement Jeremy Lin says “I’m really excited to join the adidas family,” said Lin. “They’ve changed the game with new technology and style and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Adidas currently has a handful of NBA point guards on their sneaker roster, which include former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, 2012-13 NBA rookie of the year Damian Lillard and highlight reel John Wall. Lin also joins teammate Dwight Howard, who could have recruited his teammate to leave Nike.

In his second season with the Houston Rockets Lin has put together a better than average season by scoring 14.1 points, averaging 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 24 this season.  Lin came onto the national scene when he appeared in last 35 games of the 2012 season with the New York Knicks, birthing the ”Linsanity” craze.
