Jhene Aiko‘s highly anticipated debut EP, Sail Out, is set to release tomorrow, and to further whet fans’ appetites, she dropped one last leak from the project. Her frequent collaborations with TDE members have all been successful, so her reaching out to Kendrick Lamar is not that surprising. “Stay Ready (What A Life)” finds the recently combative emcee, toned down, but still not dumbed down. It is a smooth track that has its roots in talking to the opposite sex, so Lamar spits to a young interest in his usual dope manner. Aiko’s voice is beautiful as always, and she can make any group of words sound like the chillest hooks, a great talent. This track should excite you to hear the rest of her project, which is promising to sneak into many end of the year best lists.
