Joell Ortiz steps up as the first rapper to attack Kendrick Lamar’s claim to New York’s throne in the remix to “Control.”
One-quarter of Slaughterhouse and New York native, Joell Ortiz wasted no time making a remix to “Control,” after hearing Kendrick Lamar titled himself “the king of New York.”
“You the king of New York? Lil’ homie you ain’t the king of new york/you’re just the next thing on my fork,” Joell furiously spits.
He then goes further to claim that he’ll drag the heads of kings behind his chariot and brings up the fact, slightly offended, that neither he nor Slaughterhouse was aimed at during Kendrick’s lyrical onslaught.
