In a recent interview with W Magazine, Kanye opens up on being Yeezus.

It’s no secret. Our boy Yeezy’s ego extends infinitely; and he’s totally aware of it. In a recent sitdown with W Magazine while out in Paris, he makes this apparent for us once again.

During his dialogue with W, Yeezy recounts the story that inspired his “I Am a God” record. After getting invited to a prestigious runway show in Paris, Kanye was informed that he could only attend under the stipulation that he didn’t go to any other show. So he hit the studio the next day accompanied by Daft Punk and wrote the seemingly blasphemous titled track. In the interview that’s got tweeps and bloggers alike cringing at the rap mogul, Yeezy comments:

Cause it’s like, Yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go.Man, I’m the No. 1 living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix

Aside from the aforementioned comparisons, Yeezy proceeds to make commentary on his influence on baby momma Kim K’s recent change in fashion style, praising her for donning some risky ensembles as a demonstration of her love to him…but he also mentions

“Nobody can tell my girl what to do. She just needed to be given some platforms of information to work from.”

In the same sitting, he recounts having received backlash from attendees at the debut of his first  women’s clothing line in Paris in 2011. Although the second line was better received by critics, I’m not quite sure exactly what said “platforms” he’s referencing.

In regard to what he does best, i.e. music, the interview was conducted pre-Yeezus release, and the article recounts a hilarious interaction between Ye and North West’s grandmother Kris Jenner. After playing some unfinished tracks for Kris, Ye combatted her response of “Great Job!” with some snark sarcasm…which seemed to have gone way over Miss Jenner’s head.

Here are some standout quotes from the Yeezy’s chat with W:

“Anyone who meets me for the first time and is not slightly nervous is completely full of shit. Because when I meet people I respect, I’m nervous. When I go have lunch with Tarantino at the Chateau Marmont, I’m nervous. It’s fucking Tarantino!”

“I’m not going to sit here and defend shit. That shit is rock ’n’ roll, man. That shit is rap music. I am a god. Now what?”

“But my ego is my drug. My drug is, ‘I’m better than all you other motherfuckers. Kiss my ass!’ ”
