Kanye West has been pretty busy between celebrating his birthday on Saturday and performing at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival on Sunday. With his album release date just a week away, West is adding the final touches to his anticipated album with the help of Rick Rubin.

According to Page Six of the New York Post, after mixed reviews from critics, “West brought in legendary producer Rick Rubin to help lay down additional tracks for the record.”

If the 36-year-old rapper is worried about critics, it didn’t show at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival, where he denounced radio spins and the corporation of the music industry.

“We ain’t drop no single to radio. We ain’t got no big NBA campaign or nothing like that–Sh** we ain’t even got no cover,” he told a packed house. “We just made some real music.”

The Chicago native continued on to say  ”When I listen to radio, that ain’t where I wanna be no more,” he said. “And honestly, at this point I can give a f*** about selling a million records, as long as I put out an album y’all can rock to all summer.”

Yeezus is in stores June 18.
