The year of TDE
Kendrick Lamar has been extremely scarce with details about his forthcoming sophomore album, the follow up to his debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, which garnered him 7 Grammy nominations and the international spotlight. His label head, Anthony Tiffith, better known as Top Dawg, revealed to Billboard magazine in their Kendrick Lamar & ScHoolboy Q cover story that Lamar’s second LP would most likely be released this coming September, and Kendrick himself said he doesn’t have a tentative date, but production of the album is definitely underway.
While on the red carpet at the debut of the new Spiderman movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, he had a few words about the process.
On his impending sophomore album:
No tentative date, I’m in the studio now with ideas and things like that and just seeing where it takes me. I look at each project as a journey. I couldn’t give a stable idea of what I’m doing, but it will definitely be a deal.
On a possible collaborative Black Hippy effort:
Yeah, Black Hippy, we’re moving around man. They’ll be getting something soon. They might get a few early freestyles or something, ’cause I know fans are heated for us.
